Magnesium chloride, molecular formula MgCl_2, CAS No.: 7786303, is a basic inorganic salt. The mainstream commercial types include hexahydrate magnesium chloride and anhydrous magnesium chloride. Magnesite Building Material Industry (largest consumption volume) When mixed with magnesium oxide, it forms magnesium oxychloride cement. It is used to produce fireproof boards, lightweight partition boards, greenhouse supports, magnesite manhole covers, ventilation ducts, artificial stone materials and magnesiumbased packaging boxes. The finished products feature fire resistance and impact resistance.
Transportation Industry
It serves as road deicing agent and dust suppressant for mines and roads. Compared with calcium chloride, it has lower corrosivity and delivers stable deicing performance at low temperatures.
Chemical Industry
It is used to manufacture various magnesium salts such as magnesium hydroxide, magnesium carbonate and magnesium oxide. It also acts as raw material for antifreeze, microbial nutrient agent for sewage treatment and catalyst.
Metallurgical Industry
